How To Make Your Skincare Go That Extra Mile

How To Make Your Skincare Go That Extra Mile

Are You Dissatisfied With Your Skincare Routine? Here Are Strategies To Strengthen It... And Better.

An impressive skincare routine can only go so far; without using products properly or applying them in their proper order, optimal results won't ever be realized.

Skincare is an art, and although you don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand how to best utilize moisturizers on your face, knowing some key details that help maximize their potential can make a noticeable difference to the look, feel, and health of your skin.

Here's how you can jump-start your routine and ensure it provides optimal care for your skin.

Rule #1: Always Read Labels

Have you ever purchased and tried out a new product without first reading its label? Big mistake. While it might have worked without issue in the past, keep in mind that not all products are created equally; some cleansers require water while others should be applied directly onto damp skin before massaging for several minutes before use - how will you know which it is unless you read through its fine print?

Reading instructions carefully is key to getting the most from every product in your routine, including skincare items. Following them will guide your application of them both frequently and amount. Don't wait; do it now.

Rule #2: Apply Products In Their Correct Order

Although this might sound simple, skincare routines have changed considerably from when simple cleansing, toning, and moisturizing were enough - now there are numerous tinctures, oils, essences, serums gels lotions to consider and apply in their appropriate order if they fail to work effectively...money down the drain

When it comes to layering skincare formulations, a good general rule of thumb for best results is cleansing and toning before moving on to applying the thinnest to the thickest product layers. Thinner products cannot penetrate thicker layers so building up to thicker ones is key - meaning after toning you should apply your serum first before eye treatments, moisturizer, face oil, and finally sunscreen (in the mornings at least). However, not every regimen requires each step but if they do this is the way it should go if you want optimal results from each application!

Rule #3: Apply Treatments To Damp Skin

To maximize the efficacy of your products, always apply your first treatment product to dampened skin. Whether this be an exfoliating toner such as Ocean Minerals Super Toner or an antioxidant serum like our new Peptide Facial Serum - apply within one minute after cleansing your face as damp skin absorbs active ingredients more readily such as vitamin C, glycolic acid, MSM, or peptides than dry skin does.

After cleansing your skin with soap, pat with a clean towel so only small amounts of moisture remain on its surface, then apply treatment products evenly with fingertips all over your face and neck - it's simple but super effective!

There is one notable exception to this rule, however: retinol may irritate sensitive skin easily - so applying it to damp skin could worsen irritations further. Instead, patch test before applying and it's likely you'll get along better!

Rule #4: Understand The Importance Of Serum For Targeting Skin Concerns

Facial serums might not be necessary for healthy, moisturized skin, but if you want to address skin aging concerns effectively then facial serums are an indispensable addition to your skincare regimen. A cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen routine is of course sufficient, but to effectively treat acne, blocked pores, fine lines wrinkles dark spots sagging skin issues you must include serum(s).

Serums differ significantly from moisturizers in that their molecular structures are much smaller, enabling them to penetrate your skin faster and deeper, targeting any specific concerns about it more directly. Are you suffering from dull, patchy skin? A moisturizer will be useful, but for real results try something like our best-selling Vitamin C Facial Serum instead!

Rule #5: Recognize The Importance Of An Outstanding Nighttime Routine

Morning routines can do wonders for rejuvenating skin cells and replenishing moisture loss during sleep; but overnight is when real change takes place so it is key that you prepare your skin for eight hours' worth of healing, regeneration, and repairing before retiring for the night.

At night, blood flow to your skin increases, collagen production accelerates, cell turnover quickens, free radicals are neutralized by your natural defense system, and its barrier function works hard to restore itself - all good signs. But how can this happen if your skin is covered in dirt that's been amassing on its surface during the day? Quite simply, it can't. That's why cleansing with an effective but gentle face wash before bed is necessary to achieve results. Choose one of our three effective cleansers depending on your skin type and needs - find them all here! Next, apply Retinol Facial Serum followed by Vitamin C Deep Hydration Night Cream to boost collagen synthesis while locking in moisture for long-term benefits.
